Sympathy (The Reverend Canon Scott McNaughton)

The Reverend Canon Scott McNaughton died on February 17, 2020. Beloved husband of Isabella Guthrie-McNaughton, and loving father of Sambath. Over his 36 years of ordained ministry, Scott ministered at St. George's, Guelph; St. Stephen's, Niagara Falls; St. Paul's, Jarvis and Christ Church, Nanticoke, and St. Stephen's-on-the-Mount, Hamilton. Visitation will be held at St. Stephen's,625 Concession Street, Hamilton, on Friday, February 21, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.; and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Christ's Church Cathedral, 252 James Street North, Hamilton, on Saturday, February 22, at 10:30 a.m. Clergy are invited to vest - colour is white.

A Prayer Vigil will be held beginning Friday, February 21, at Christ's Church Cathedral, at 10 p.m., thru to Saturday, February 22, at 10 a.m. Clergy please contact Canon Terry DeForest - to sign up for a segment of time.  Many thanks.

The Reverend Robert Brownlie has been appointed priest-in-charge of St. Stephen-on-the-Mount, Hamilton, beginning March 1, on a part time basis.

Resignation (The Reverend Allison Courey)

The Reverend Allison Courey has submitted her resignation as Director of Children's, Youth, Young Adult, and Young Family Ministry at St.Christopher's, Burlington, effective February 29.  We wish Allison well in her future endeavors.  

Appointment (The Reverend Dr. Michael Mondloch)

The Reverend Dr. Michael Mondloch submitted his resignation as Director of Social Justice and Outreach at St.George's, St.Catharines, effective March 15. 

Dr. Mondloch has accepted the position to be Vicar at St. Barnabas, St. Catharines, for a short period ministering with the Reverend Kevin Block.  He will then assume the role of Priest in Charge of St. Barnabas, St. Catharines, on March 16, on a 3/4 time basis.

The Reverend Mike Deed has been appointed as the diocesan liturgical officer, effective February 1, for a three-year term. In this role, Mike will work with the Bishop to promote excellence in liturgical worship and assist with planning for episcopal visits and diocesan services.

Bishop Susan Bell is pleased to announce the appointment of Canon Bill Mous as our diocesan executive officer, effective February 1, 2020, in addition to his current role as secretary of synod.  Canon Bill Mous will be collated as Archdeacon of Niagara at the ordination service scheduled for February 23, 2020, at 4 p.m., at Christ's Church Cathedral, Hamilton.
