Appointment (AR/AP Administrator)

We are delighted to welcome Mark Burley, accounts payable and accounts receivable administrator, to the diocesan staff team. Mark will oversee diocesan income and expenses and payment management processes, in accordance with best practices and accounting standards. Mark also serves as the primary liaison with vendors, and provides finance-related support to staff, parishes, and other stakeholders. Welcome Mark!

Our deepest sympathy to the Reverend Leon Burke, honorary assistant of Church of the Resurrection, Hamilton, on the death of his wife, Inell Melrose Burke, on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Inell’s celebration of life will take place on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 10am at Church of the Resurrection (435 Mohawk Rd W, Hamilton, ON L9C 1X1 – at Mohawk Rd W and Garth St). Visitation will take place at M.A. Clark & Son Funeral Home Ltd. (567 Upper Wellington St, Hamilton) on Friday, March 14 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Please remember Leon and his family, friends, and parish community in your thoughts and prayers.

Appointment (Peter Ciallella)

The Reverend Peter Ciallella has been appointed as Migrant Farm Worker Missioner, on a part-time basis, beginning May 1, 2025. For the month of April, Peter will work full-time with The Reverend Antonio Illas and Cela Tecamachaltzi de Illas, orienting himself to Niagara’s migrant farm worker ministry to ensure a smooth transition. In addition to this appointment, Peter will also serve as rector of St. John’s, Winona, on a part-time basis, beginning May 1, 2025.

The Reverend Canon Stuart Pike has submitted his intention to retire as rector of St. Luke’s, Burlington, effective June 1, 2025.

The Reverend Antonio Illas has submitted his intention to retire as rector of St. John's, Winona and as the Migrant Farmworker Missioner, effective May 1, 2025. At the same time, Cela Tecamachaltzi de Illas’ ministry with the Migrant Farmworkers Project will also come to a conclusion.
