Resignation (The Reverend Holly Klemmensen)

The Reverend Holly Klemmensen has submitted her resignation as Rector of St. John the Divine, Cayuga, effective June 30.  We wish Holly all the best as she moves to the Diocese of Algoma, as Rector of Emmaus Church, Sault Ste. Marie.

Congratulations to first time grandparents, Dean Peter Wall and Ms. Anne Harvey!  They welcomed a beautiful granddaughter, Simone Adelaide, on April 13th.  Proud parents are Emily Wall and Sophia Schwartz, from Montreal.

Our deepest sympathy to the Reverend Karine Snowdon, Rector of Grace Church, Milton, and family, on the death of her mother, Elva Farmer, on April 3.  A graveside service will be held on April 8 at Woodland Cemetery, London, Ontario.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family.

Congratulations (Dr. John Bowen)

John Bowen, professor emeritus of Wycliffe College, and faithful member of St. John the Evangelist, Hamilton, has been awarded the prestigious Alphege Award for Evangelism and Witness, one of serveral Lambeth Awards announced by the Archbishop of Canterbury.  His citation reads, "for his attractive articulation of the love of God for all people, with a particular heart for those who have not yet heard the name of Jesus, and for his mentoring and discipling of Christian leaders.  The annual award recognizes outstanding contributions to the Church and wider society.

Gord Archbell, O.N., long time and faithful member of St. Christopher's, Burlington, died on March 29. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.  Our thoughts are with his wife, June, and the bereaved family. When it is safe to gather, a Celebration of Life will be held at his parish church of St. Christopher's.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Reverend Daniel Bennett, Rector of St. Paul's, Fort Erie; All Saints, Ridgeway and St. John's, Ridgemount, on the death of his father, Robert, on March 26.  Funeral service is planned for April 5.

The Very Reverend Leighton Lee, Rector of the Cathedral Church of the Redeemer and Dean of Calgary, has accepted the appointment to be Rector of St. Mark's Church, Niagara-on-the-Lake, beginning June 1.
