Decennial Inspections

The Anglican Diocese of Niagara has a program to carry out periodic inspections of all church properties within the diocese to uphold the health and safety of parishioners and those who use our buildings, as well as to support proactive maintenance , for the good stewardship of the churches entrusted to our care.

This work is overseen by the Bishop’s Advisory Committee on Church Buildings, which is mandated to monitor the decennial inspection terms of reference and scheduling and to review reports of the physical structure, fabric, systems, grounds and cemeteries of all  properties on a rotating 10-year cycle.

The inspections are carried out by pre-qualified inspectors, the cost of which is borne by parishes.
