Through its partnership with the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, Alongside Hope is supporting a coordinated aid response by the Humanitarian Coalition of which the Canadian Foodgrains Bank is a member. They are calling for your support of the Emergency Appeal for the Middle East.
Since late February, the crisis has intensified significantly. Thousands have been killed, more than 20,000 injured, and over four million people have been displaced from their homes. In countries including Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, and Syria, humanitarian partners are responding urgently with food, clean water, medical care, and emergency shelter.
Church leaders are also calling for prayer and advocacy. Hosam Naoum, Anglican archbishop in Jerusalem, has issued a pastoral letter, urging the global Church to remain steadfast in “urgent, unceasing prayer” for all those affected by the violence, particularly the most vulnerable.
In addition, a joint statement from the World Council of Churches and other global Christian organizations has expressed deep concern over the widening conflict and its devastating humanitarian impact.
The Humanitarian Coalition’s appeal runs until March 30, 2026, raising funds to deliver life-saving assistance to those most in need. You can support the global response by joining in prayer for peace and for all those impacted by the crisis, giving to support emergency relief efforts through Alongside Hope and sharing the information within your parish or community.
