The St. Luke’s Mission

The Saint Luke’s Mission is an Anglican worshipping community rooted in the sacramental tradition. At the heart of our life together is prayer, worship, and a commitment to following Jesus in community.

We understand the Church to be more than an institution. It is the Body of Christ, a people gathered by God. This understanding of the Church shapes our ecclesial identity—our shared life as the Body of Christ, gathered for worship, prayer, and service.

We believe God is present in the ordinary things of life, in bread and wine, in one another, and throughout creation. As we gather for worship and serve our neighbours, we seek to join with all creation in giving thanks and praise to God.

Each Sunday morning we gather to celebrate the Eucharist (Holy Communion), and throughout the week we pray Morning and Evening Prayer together.

Our life extends beyond the church building. You’ll find us sharing meals in local cafés, restaurants, bars, and backyards, building friendships with our neighbours. We also care for our community garden, where we plant, harvest, and prepare food together as part of our shared life.

Saint Luke’s Mission has served Hamilton’s historic North End since 1882. Today, we continue to live, worship, and serve alongside our neighbours while building relationships throughout Hamilton’s lower city.

We welcome people from all walks of life, especially those exploring the Christian faith for the first time, returning to church after time away, or seeking to rebuild their faith after a season of questioning or deconstruction.
