Human Trafficking Justice Niagara

Human Trafficking Justice Niagara (HTJN) is a diocesan ministry that developed in response to the Anglican Church of Canada’s 2019 General Synod Resolution A204 on human trafficking and modern slavery. Grounded in the Fourth Mark of Mission, HTJN equips parishes and communities to respond through prayer, education, advocacy, and action. The ministry helps people across the diocese recognize that trafficking happens in our own communities and supports faithful responses that uphold dignity and work toward justice, systemic change, and local outreach.

HTJN focuses on prayer, education, action, and advocacy. It supports parishes in marking Freedom Sunday and integrating prayer for victims and perpetrators into worship. The ministry provides workshops, webinars, and local resources to build awareness and prevention. It connects with community partners, service providers, and advocacy networks, equipping leaders to support outreach efforts and speak out against human trafficking and modern-day slavery.

HTJN serves clergy, lay leaders, and congregations across the Diocese of Niagara, supporting those who want to better understand and respond to human trafficking. It also connects with community partners, educators, and service providers working to prevent exploitation and support those affected. The ministry equips individuals and communities to recognize risks, respond with care, and take action toward justice.
