Climate Justice Niagara

Faithful action to safeguard creation

About Climate Justice Niagara

Climate Justice Niagara (CJN) is a diocesan ministry grounded in the Fifth Mark of Mission: to strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth. CJN equips parishes and communities to respond to the climate crisis with faith, hope, and action. Through education, advocacy, and practical initiatives, the ministry supports individuals and congregations in reducing emissions, protecting ecosystems, and standing with those most affected by climate change, both locally and globally.

What We Do

CJN supports parishes through education, resources, and hands-on initiatives. This includes webinars, in-person learning events, engaging community partnerships, and programs like our Parish Accreditation Program and zero-emission church resources. CJN supports projects such as tree planting and community gardens. The ministry also engages in advocacy at local and national levels, encouraging faithful responses to climate policy and environmental justice.

Who We Do it For

CJN serves clergy, lay leaders, and congregations across the Diocese of Niagara, supporting those who want to deepen their response to the climate crisis. It works with community partners to encourage practical action and growing awareness of the broader impacts of climate change.
