It is with sorrow that we share the news of the death of the Reverend Canon Fred Roberts on April 15, 2024. A service to celebrate his life will be held at St. Michael’s Anglican Church (1188 Fennell Ave E, Hamilton, ON L8T 1S6) on April 27 at 11am. Fred served as an honorary assistant at St. Michael's for many years after he retired from the Diocese of Algoma in 1995. Please hold Fred’s wife, Jean, his family, friends, and colleagues in your prayers as they mourn. May he rest in peace and rise in glory!

Congratulations to the Reverend Canon Jim Powell on his 50th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood on April 25. A service in celebration of his ministry will be held at Christ Church, Niagara Falls on Sunday, April 21 at 10am. All are welcome.

Betty Storosko, O.N., faithful and devoted member of St. John’s, Port Dalhousie, died on Friday, April 5, 2024. The funeral service will take place at St. John’s Anglican Church (80 Main Street, St. Catharines) on Saturday, April 13 at 11:00am with a reception to follow in the parish hall. Visitation will be Friday, April 12 from 4:30-7:00pm at the George Darte Funeral Home (585 Carlton St., St. Catharines). Please remember her family, friends, and parish community in your thoughts and prayers.

Bishop Terry faithfully served the Diocese of Niagara, the Anglican Church of Canada, and the wider Anglican Communion throughout his five decades of ordained ministry. Please hold Bishop Terry's family, friends, and colleagues in your prayers as they mourn. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, May 3 at 1 pm at Christ’s Church Cathedral, Hamilton, with visitation before beginning at Noon. A reception will follow in the narthex.

Retirement (Trish Foden)

After 10 and a half years of service to the diocese, Trish Foden, payroll, pensions, and benefits administrator, will be retiring effective May 31, 2024. She has been a steadfast and supportive presence, diligently attending to our payroll needs, as well as group benefit and continuing education inquiries. We have been blessed by Trish’s dedication and friendship and wish her all the best in her retirement.
