Ever wonder about what the Niagara Youth Conference (NYC) is all about? A great new promotional video has been created to give youth, parents and priests a taste of the wonder, joy and inspiration that happens each year at NYC.

NYC VideoThe Niagara Youth Conference is a caring, spiritual, participatory learning community that encourages inclusivity and personal growth - mitigated, of course, by fun and frivolity! This is a residential conference for youth ages 13-21. It starts on Sunday night and ends on Friday night before dinner in the week before the Labour Day weekend at beautiful Canterbury Hills.

This is a profound experience for those who attend, like Maddy Heys: "My first year at NYC, I was very nervous about fitting in. That quickly went away, however, once I arrived and got settled. In base group, everyone is so open and accepting of whatever I had to say, and I learned about myself through activities we did and what other people shared. Since nothing that is said in base group leaves base group, I knew I was safe and could open up. Through my five years attending NYC, I have changed a lot, in many good ways, and I can say that without a doubt that NYC helped me become who I am today."

This year's theme will explore the circle of wholeness, and include activities, reflections and worship that is focussed around it. Music and small groups are also an essential part of the conference an invite participants to delve deeper into their spirituality.

The cost of the conference is $365, and bursaries are available to ensure the participation of all who wish to attend. For more information or to register, visit the link below, or email Su McLeod or Jane Wyse at Cathedral Place
