New Regional Archdeacon Appointed
Canon David Anderson appointed as Archdeacon of Undermount

Bishop Michael Bird has announced the appointment Canon David Anderson, Rector of St. John the Evangelist, Hamilton, as Archdeacon of Undermount, The appointment takes effect on August 1, 2015 upon the retirement of Archdeacon Rick Jones.
Regional archdeacons serve the church within our diocese by taking particular responsibility for church buildings, the welfare of clergy and their families and the implementation of diocesan policy within the region to which they are assigned.
A service of collation for the new archdeacon will be held at a later date in the fall.
At the Clergy and Licensed Lay Workers Conference, Bishop Bird lauded the ministry of Archdeacon Jones as a parish priest, former Secretary of Synod and regional archdeacon. We wish Archdeacon Jones a very happy retirement and every blessing as he begins a new chapter in his life's journey.
