2016 General Synod Nominations Now Open

Elections to occur at diocesan synod

The Secretary of Synod is calling for nominations to General Synod which will meet July 7-13, 2016 in Toronto. Individuals must be members of the 2015 diocesan synod in order to be eligible for nomination and members of synod may self-nominate. The consent of a nominee must be given prior to his/her name being submitted. 

The deadline for completed nominations is September 30, 2015; incomplete nominations will not be included in the Synod Circular. Nominations may be made from the floor with the consent of the nominee.

General Synod is the chief governing and legislative body of the of the Anglican Church of Canada. Governance reform, doctrinal and liturgical principles, justice issues, global partnerships, ecumenical and interfaith relationships, and the finances of the national church are all expected to be on the agenda of the 41st General Synod..
