Bishop Announces Upcoming Diaconal Ordination

Daniel Cranley is set to be ordained on November 30 at the Cathedral

Posted November 4, 2014

Bishop Michael Bird has announced the forthcoming ordination to the diaconate of Daniel Cranley on the feast day for St. Andrew the Apostle. The ordination will take place on Sunday, November 30 at 4:00pm at Christ's Church Cathedral. Canon Stuart Pike, Rector of St. Luke's, Burlington, will be the preacher.

In addition to asking for prayers for the ordinand, all are invited to attend the ordination. The presence of people from our wider diocesan family at an ordination is always encouraged and indicative of support for the ordinand as they begin their new ministry. Moreover, all diocesan clergy are encouraged to vest; the liturgical colour is red. An informal reception will follow the ordination service in Myler Hall.

Dan grew up in Peterborough, Ontario, and is completing his studies at the University of Trinity College in the University of Toronto. He has accepted an offer to be the full-time Pastoral Associate at St. Christopher’s, Burlington, beginning December 1.
