16 Days of Activism seeks to end gender-based violence

Recent events in our country and around the world have created new space for conversations about gender-based violence in our society. As people of faith, challenging violence of every kind and pursuing peace and reconciliation are marks of God’s mission to which we are all called.

The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence presents an important opportunity to out the conversation on violence in our communities. The 16 Days begin with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25 and ends on December 10 – International Human Rights Day – is the final day. 

The Diocese has compiled these resources for use during 16 Days campaign, and a statement by the National Bishops of the Evangelical Lutheran and Anglican churches has also been issued.. Two new videos have also been produced in the lead up to this year's campaign. 

Anglicans Against ViolenceMale Anglican leaders from around the globe, including our Primate, stand against gender-based violence in this new video (click image to view). The Anglican Communion has put together these resources to acompany the initiative.
